Summary: Charles Waldstein, Director of the American School and Professor of Art, excavated at the site of the Argive Heraeum with the assistance of Richard Norton, H.S. Washington and two students of the School, J.C. Hoppin and J. Alden from 1892-1895. John Caskey and Pierre Amandry of the French School cleared a 7th-6th cent. B.C. deposit in 1949. The collection consists of Caskey’s excavation notebook, plans and drawings, photos and negatives, notes, sketches. Also, a photocopy of three of Charles Waldstein’s notebooks (1893, 1894, 1897, originals in King’s College Library) and 23 prints from Waldstein’s excavations bought from Cambridge University Library. Included is a set of copy prints of sculpture published by Rebecca Wood [Robinson] as a School paper in 1952.
