ABSTRACT:

This article summarizes the results of six seasons (2002-2007) of continuing excavations in the Athenian Agora by the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. Work concentrated in the area outside the northwest corner of the square, where commercial buildings dating from the 5th century B.C. to the 5th century A.D. were explored and more of the eastern part of the Stoa Poikile was exposed. Further work was also carried out in the area of the Eleusinion, and southwest of the Tholos, in the Classical building traditionally identified as the "Strategeion."
