Fees for fieldwork projects

The Excavation and Survey Project Affiliation Fee will be applied to each of the affiliated projects holding one of the School's allotted permits for excavation and/or survey. The benefits extended to projects by payment of this fee include the following: when needed, the services of the ASCSA's Administrative Assistant to the Director, Director, Assistant Director, and lawyer (not including assistance with land expropriations); associate membership status and access to the facilities of the ASCSA by graduate students and professional members of the project for the duration of the field season; museum passes for graduate students and professional members of the project; translation of their annual reports (up to three pages, single-spaced, 12-point type throughout) into Greek for submission to the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, relevant ephoreias, and Archaiologikon Deltion.

The Excavation and Survey Project Affiliation Fee for affiliated projects holding one of the School's allotted permits for excavation and/or survey is a flat fee of $3500. The current fee level was voted on by the Managing Committee in 2008 and instituted in 2009.

Should a project require use of the Wiener Laboratory, it may be required to pay additional Bench Fees and directors need to consult the web page of the Wiener Lab that outlines the conditions for the payment of such fees: http://www.ascsa.edu.gr/index.php/wiener-laboratory/bench-fees

Professional and graduate student team members will have Visiting Associate Member status for the duration of their field season only. Project directors are required to submit to the School, through the Administrative Assistant to the Director, the names of their project's members at least two weeks before the commencement of the project. Any team member wishing to use School facilities beyond the end of the field season should make separate application (link to the membership page) to the Director of the School for continuation of his/her Associate Member status.

Fees for Affiliated Projects Conducting Study/Research Seasons
For study/research teams affiliated with the School (i.e., those which do not currently hold one of the School's allotted permits and so are not actively engaged in excavation or survey), all graduate student and senior members shall be considered to hold the status of Associate Members of the School for the duration of their field season. Project directors shall be responsible for the payment of membership fees on behalf of their team members. The aggregate of fees assessed on one team project in one season shall not exceed the sum of $2000, as set by the Managing Committee. Team members who concurrently are already Associate Members of the School shall not be liable for double payment. In projects sponsored by a cooperating institution the fees are $165 per month for senior associate members, and $110 per month for graduate students. In projects sponsored by a non-affiliated institution, the fees for senior associate members are $330 per month and for graduate students $220 per month. Affiliated projects pay for the translation of the annual site report into Greek for the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, relevant ephoreias, and Archaiologikon Deltion. The current rate is $43 per page (single spaced, 12-point type throughout).
